The Lehigh County chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees selected John Annoni from the Allentown School District to be the recipient of the Lauretta Woodson Awards for the 2015-2016 school year. The purpose of the Lauretta Woodson Recognition Program is to honor one educator for doing an outstanding job within the profession of teaching.
“It was an extremely humbling honor to be chosen by those who laid a foundation in education before me,” Annoni stated. “To know what I’ve done both inside and beyond the four walls of my classroom is considered worthy makes my years of effort worth it.” The award is given annually to recognize an educator who has exhibited creativity, initiative, or productivity relevant to the learning process and growth of children.
The Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) formally presented the award to Mr. Annoni at a meeting held on Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Iron Lakes Country Club. The Chapter selected the award recipient and then presented John with a medallion, certificate, and PASR pin.
