I find it pretty humbling to watch a student get picked up from our academy after a weekend trip and before a parent says hello the kid is spilling his/her guts about how cool the weekend was. It happens again and again and it does nothing but gives me the fuel to keep pushing. The circumstances our children are faced with are dictated by adult decisions and giving youth a fresh perspective on life can be an exciting aspect of taking the time to care. Hats off to all of my volunteers no matter how large or small the role they play in the lives of our children. After All, it takes all kinds of Lego’s to complete the piece.
