R.I.P Brother-In-Law

I will miss you!

John “Shorty” Clark, 61 passed away on September 2, 2010 from an automobile accident. Born in Fort Valley, GA, on November 24, 1948. He was the son of George Clark Sr. and the late Mary Clark. John was the most precious gift of life and best friend to his wife Elizabeth Clark. They were childhood sweethearts and the love of each others lives. He was and always will be a hero to his two daughters, Candice and Noél. He was the most loving, fun Pop-Pop to his special little girl, Mikayla. John’s face would light up whenever he would lay eyes on her.

He was a distinguished award winning reporter for the Morning Call for 13 years. In [1983], he ran for State Representative 132 District & Candidate for the General Assembly. He was a respected adjunct instructor  in the Communications Department of Cedar Crest and Muhlenberg Colleges since the fall of 1981. In 1992 he began working for the Pennsylvania Department of Education as the Chief media consultant & chief spokesperson for the Secretary of Education.
In 1993 he began work for PSEA. He served the Wilkes-Barre, Allentown, and Montgomeryville regions for over 17 years. As an award-winning Communications Specialist/Organizing Program Specialist, John was an inspiration to the community and to all of those who worked with him.Survivors: Wife, Elizabeth Clark; Granddaughter Mikayla Stone, Daughters, Candice Clark-Johnson, Noél Clark all of Salisbury Township.
and Genail Pugh and Son, Dwayne Getz of Allentown. Father; George Clark Sr. and Step-Mother Charlie Mae Whitehead of Allentown; Brothers, George Clark, Allen Clark, Willie Clark, Edward Whitehead, Thomas Joseph Whitehead; Sisters, Betty Clark, Marie Clark, Theresa Whitehead, Stephanie Ali, Jeanette Whitehead and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services: Viewing Thursday September, 9 from 6-8pm and Friday September, 10 from 9-11am. With service starting at 11am. At St. Paul Baptist Church located at 925 East Goepp Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting contributions be made to Camp Compass Academy, 1221 Sumner Ave. Allentown, PA 18104.
